What is planned for 2026

The organizer expects about 100 booths spanning regional food, retail, companies, cultural groups, and hands-on experiences. Early plans name mapo tofu, xiaolongbao, dumplings, malatang, Chinese tea, hanfu, calligraphy, and crafts, alongside traditional instruments, dance, singing, and C-pop. A panda-themed project and China travel information are also planned.

Treat that as a preview rather than a final menu. As of July 17, 2026, the detailed map, booth roster, stage timetable, prices, and payment methods remained unpublished. The festival proceeds in rain but can be canceled in severe weather, so check the official site and social accounts before leaving.

A festival built around public exchange

The Tokyo festival began in 2017, the year marking 45 years since normalization of Japan–China diplomatic relations. Its current organizers describe it as a platform for people-to-people exchange and a way to encounter China’s present, bringing traditional culture into the same park as current food trends, tourism, pop culture, businesses, and diaspora organizations.

The combination offers a view of Tokyo as a place of Asian migration and civic exchange while presenting traditional culture alongside contemporary food, tourism, business, and pop culture. Organizer-reported attendance indicates substantial interest, although the figures are not audited unique-visitor counts.

Find the Event Plaza within Yoyogi Park

The Event Plaza is in Yoyogi Park’s B district, on the Shibuya side of the wider park. Nearby station guides can make the park sound three minutes away, but finding the festival area can take 10–15 minutes. Save the Japanese venue name, 代々木公園イベント広場, and use the final organizer map once released.

Official Tokyo guidance describes park paths as wide and mostly flat, with accessible restrooms behind the outdoor stage. Event-specific viewing and service arrangements remain unannounced. Shibuya is the practical lodging base for walking access and airport connections; Harajuku is closest to the park, while Shinjuku works well for travelers building a wider Tokyo itinerary.
