DESIGNART TOKYO returns October 30–November 8, 2026, placing art and design in shops, galleries, museums, restaurants, and event spaces across Tokyo. Announced areas include Omotesando, Gaienmae, Harajuku, Shibuya, Roppongi, and Ginza. A morning might move from furniture and product design to an installation in a cafe or gallery. There is no single gate or hall. The final map, participant list, venue hours, and reservation details are still pending, so good planning begins with geography.
Who should cross for this
Designers, architects, artists, collectors, creative-industry professionals, students, and design-conscious visitors.
The distributed format turns Tokyo’s creative districts into an international design circuit and creates a clear travel window for industry and cultural visitors.
Suggested trip length: 4 nights to cover several districts
Planning by neighborhood cluster
Omotesando, Gaienmae, and Harajuku form a natural western walk with architecture, fashion, and showrooms along the way. Shibuya deserves its own block if several venues appear there. Roppongi has major museums and galleries, while Ginza provides a separate eastern route around commercial art and design spaces.
Pick three to five nearby stops for a half-day and confirm each address, opening time, and nearest exit. The official 2026 materials also mention a digital stamp rally; rules and prizes have not yet been released.
Expect different access at every stop
No festival-wide public ticket has been announced. Many previous presentations occupied publicly accessible shops and galleries, but museums and special programs can charge or require reservations. The large JPY figures on the official entry page are exhibitor packages, not visitor admission.
Accessibility also belongs to each host venue. Temporary spaces may have steps, narrow doors, or limited toilets even when the nearest station is step-free. Operating hours and weekly closures will differ, especially around Culture Day on November 3.
Look for emerging voices
DESIGNART INC. founded the festival in 2017 to connect disciplines including architecture, interiors, products, fashion, food, and technology. Its Under 30 initiative, running since 2018, waives participation fees for five selected young creators and helps match them with presentation spaces and partners.
The organizer forecasts 250,000 visits in 2026, but that is a planning estimate rather than confirmed unique attendance. Once the map appears, let selected projects guide your route.
