Vancouver T100 returned to Locarno Beach on August 15 and 16, 2026, after its Canadian debut in 2025. The weekend combined a women’s professional race with 100 km, Olympic, sprint, and junior formats, all based beside Jericho Sailing Centre. For athletes, Friday mattered. Sprint, Olympic, and 100 km participants had pre-race pack collection, while bike racking also happened before each event. Future travelers should treat the next edition’s athlete guide—not this archive—as the source of truth for times and course maps.
Who should cross for this
Competitive and recreational triathletes, junior athletes and families, endurance spectators, and international race travelers.
The event is an international professional tour stop in a Pacific-facing city and is designed to attract traveling professional and amateur athletes.
Suggested trip length: 4 nights for participants; 3 for spectators
How the race days were structured
Saturday’s provisional programme started with the Olympic race at 6:30 a.m., followed by the sprint at 7:30 a.m., professional women at 11:05 a.m., and Junior Super Sprint at 2:30 p.m. The 100 km race was provisionally set for 6:30 a.m. Sunday, covering a 2 km swim, 80 km bike, and 18 km run.
Registration was dynamic and capacity-sensitive. For the next edition, recheck which distances are open, refund terms, and every mandatory race-day step before arranging non-refundable travel.
Watch from the waterfront
Locarno, Jericho, and Spanish Banks formed an attractive viewing corridor, although long bike loops and road controls made following every phase difficult. Spectators who picked one or two viewing areas, brought layers and sun protection, and expected a substantial walk had the cleaner day. The City lists washrooms and seasonal beach amenities.
Water temperature and quality can also change race operations. Official measurement happens close to the start, and Vancouver Coastal Health publishes current beach advisories.
Plan the west-side transfer
Parking was limited and closures affected Discovery Street, Marine Drive, and UBC approaches. A west-side room reduced the early journey; downtown provided a wider choice of hotels and restaurants. TransLink service can be detoured, so recheck the next athlete guide, road notices, and trip planner shortly before a future weekend.
