Crystal Is Running Back-to-Back Wellness Cruises Down the Pacific Coast

August Wellness at Sea sailings run Vancouver–San Diego, then San Diego–Guayaquil, with structured movement, mindfulness, and nutrition on Crystal Symphony. The useful question is whether the program can hold its own against the same ship’s indulgent dining and casino culture.

Crystal wants August to feel like a retreat that happens to move down the Pacific—not only a luxury cruise with a yoga mat in the corner.

The line’s third annual Wellness at Sea retreats sail aboard Crystal Symphony during National Wellness Month. The first leg runs August 17–24 from Vancouver to San Diego. The second picks up the same afternoon, August 24 through September 5, and keeps going south—from San Diego to Guayaquil, Ecuador—rather than turning back up the coast. Book either week alone, or stitch them for a continuous Pacific wellness journey.

Dalila Roglieri, Crystal’s wellness ambassador and a registered nutritionist, leads the program again. She is joined by yoga and mental-wellbeing specialist Jenni Demus; fitness and yoga specialist Mandi Appelberg; cold-exposure expert and somatic therapist Magnus Appelberg; and Chef Abbie Gellman, a culinary nutrition authority who directs the Teaching Kitchen and Culinary Medicine program at SBH Health System in New York. The schedule is denser than a spa menu: morning yoga and meditation, sound baths, functional training, breathwork and mind-reset classes Crystal names Wake Me Up Breath and Master Your Mind, longevity lectures on aging well and emotional health, and a two-day detox at sea built around digital mindfulness. Culinary work is part of the product—plant-rich dishes created with Roglieri’s nutrition guidance, workshops and demos with Gellman, individual nutrition consultations, blind tastings, and daily juices and lighter courses. Crystal points to a Women’s Health 2025 Travel Award for Best Healthy Food as proof the kitchen track is not an afterthought. Pickleball coaching fills the social-movement slot for guests who want competition without a treadmill stare.

That is a real curriculum. It still lives on a ship that sells another kind of evening.

Crystal Symphony remains an ultra-luxury hull in the A&K Travel Group era: Umi Uma by Nobuyuki Matsuhisa, Beefbar at sea, and a Casino de Monte-Carlo partnership sit in the same brochure as Aurōra Spa. Wellness at Sea does not close those rooms for August. It adds a parallel timetable. Guests who treat the retreat as optional enrichment will still find the familiar Crystal evening—specialty dinner, a drink, a late show. Guests who treat Roglieri’s schedule as the reason they boarded will spend more mornings on the mat and more meals on the plant-rich line. The product does not force the choice. That is both the appeal and the test. “Wellness cruise” marketing often implies the indulgent model has been replaced. Here it has been given a rival calendar.

The geography helps the case. The Vancouver–San Diego week is a classic Pacific-coast run—Victoria’s gardens, Astoria, Eureka and the Humboldt redwoods, San Francisco’s Golden Gate approach, then San Diego—priced from about $4,300 per guest at research time for seven nights. The Guayaquil continuation stretches the idea of “Pacific coast” into Mexico and Central America: Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Acajutla in El Salvador, Costa Rica calls, then Ecuador, from about $5,900 per guest for twelve nights, again per Crystal’s live fare pages, which move with promotions. Scenic ports do not make a detox honest. They do give the sea days and shore hours room to feel like a journey rather than a floating gym.

Book this if you already like Crystal’s scale and service and want a named wellness faculty for August—not if you need a dry ship or a medical program. Confirm live fares and which specialists sail which leg; voyage pages sometimes list additional names on the longer southern stretch. Then decide, before embarkation, how many Nobu nights you will allow yourself. Wellness at sea works when the program is why you boarded—not a guilt offset for dinner.
