SQ31 Reached Singapore on Friday Morning
Wednesday’s SQ31 spent almost nine hours in the air and came back to San Francisco. It left again that night with a new crew and landed in Singapore at 6:53 a.m. Friday.

Back the same evening
SQ31 left San Francisco late Wednesday morning and was back at the same airport that evening.
It left at 11:51 a.m. and landed back at 8:41 p.m., eight hours and 50 minutes after departure. Singapore Airlines said a passenger became unruly and injured himself, and the pilots turned the airplane around. The landing was uneventful. The Business Times, citing FlightAware, said the jet was well into the North Pacific before the turn.
The airline did not say what he did, or what the injury was. Singapore Airlines said he was handed to local authorities after the landing.
A new crew took the flight out at 11:18 p.m., about two and a half hours after it had come back. In Singapore, the first departure was 2:51 a.m. Thursday and the second was 2:18 p.m.
Friday morning
Changi had Wednesday’s flight due around 7 p.m. Thursday. The Straits Times reported that hour from the airport’s tracking.
The flight tracker Flightradar24 shows the same Airbus A350, registration 9V-SJC, landing at 6:53 a.m. Friday. On that tracker the continuation is SQ9031. Thursday evening’s arrival had become Friday morning.
Singapore Airlines apologized and said it would rebook connecting flights. A Thursday-evening onward from Changi left before this airplane arrived. If the new connection is Friday or later, use the time on the rebooked ticket.
Thursday’s airplane
The SQ31 that left San Francisco on Thursday was a different A350, 9V-SJE. Flightradar24 shows that it reached Singapore.
Wednesday’s passengers have been in Singapore since Friday morning. If your own flight leaves San Francisco after Wednesday, you are on a later jet, and your ticket keeps its own schedule.
