Saturday morning is the ceremonial open

City copy puts lion and dragon dancers at the start of Saturday. Arrive near the 10:00 a.m. opening if that is your priority; midday density makes sightlines harder. Sunday runs 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. and can feel slightly easier for food lines.

Closures begin Friday evening

East Garvey between Garfield and Alhambra closes from about 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 22, until about 6:00 a.m. Monday, January 25. Side streets including Baltimore, Lincoln, Russell, Nicholson, Everett, and Edgley also close; Garfield remains open north–south.

Shuttle lots beat hunting for Garvey parking

Use the city’s listed free lots and shuttle pairs rather than circling the closed grid. Shuttles run roughly 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Compared with Pomona’s ticketed Asian American Expo the prior weekend, this is the free SGV street edition—different campus, different parking math.
